Orange County Parks and Recreation has the following fun events in May:
  • May 18: The UF/IFAS/Orange County Extension Office hosts the #AdoptATree event at Downey Park from 8 a.m. to noon. A variety of trees will be available; proof of county residency required. For more information, visit the Adopt-a-Tree web page.
  • May 25: The Friends of Cypress Grove Parks host the Memorial Day Salute, honoring Robert "Bob" Snow and all Veterans, at Cypress Grove Park from 9:45 to 11:30 a.m. 9:45 a.m. Here's the event schedule:
    • Prelude 9:45 a.m.
    • Program 10-11:30 a.m.
      • Meaning and Folding of the American Flag
      • VFW Post 2093 Community Band
      • Veterans Pinning Ceremony
      • POW/MIA Presentation
      • Patriotic Guest Speaker
      • Posting of the Colors
