Orange County & Orlando Declare “Purple Pride Day”
 

Orange County, FL – Orange County Mayor Teresa Jacobs and Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer have issued a proclamation declaring today, Friday August 23, 2013 as Purple Pride Day. The proclamation celebrates the success of the Orlando City Lions soccer club as it fights to bring a second USL PRO Championship to Central Florida. The team first captured that crown in 2011.

The Lions finished the regular season in second place in the league standings with a record of 16 wins, 4 losses, and 6 ties. On Saturday, August 24, the Lions face the Pittsburgh Riverhounds at the Florida Citrus Bowl with the winner moving on to the semifinals held the weekend of August 30 – September 1.
