Sustainability and Civic Engagement

We want to inspire citizens to seek strategies that strengthen the economic power of families, preserve our environment, and promote the health and well-being of all our residents. Our goal is to collaborate with local governments, businesses, and citizens to promote long-term prosperity, resiliency, and livability in our communities.

Accomplishments and Efforts

  • Our 11 Orange County community centers host more than 400,000 annual visitors.
  • Collectively, 491 volunteers contributed 2,724 hours to the community in 2013 through the environmental Volunteer & Internship Program (eVIP.) Their combined time is valued at $50,123.
  • In 2011-2012, volunteers contributed 47,916 hours to the Orange County Head Start program.
  • More than 2,000 citizens have attended Orange County Home Energy Efficiency Workshops from 2010-2013.
  • Neighborhood Centers for Families (NCF) served more than 21,000 citizens from 2010-2011.
