Where Is Horizon West?

The area north of Walt Disney World, west of the Butler Chain of Lakes and south of John’s Lake

What’s the Need?

This area has increasing traffic demands so some improvements may be required.

Elements & Items

The review will identify and make recommendations about additional travel lanes, realignment of road segments, and also check out signals and intersections.

Like to bike?

The addition of bike lanes, multi-use paths, landscaping, safety enhancements, lighting and drainage improvements are all being reviewed.

Segments F

Includes Ficquette Road, from about 1,900 feet south of CR 535, south to about 600 feet west of the Overstreet Road intersection.

Segment G

Includes Ficquette Road, from about 600 feet west of the Overstreet Road intersection, southwest to about 1,600 feet southwest of the Overstreet Road intersection.

Segment H-1

Includes Ficquette Road, from about 1,600 feet southwest of the intersection with Overstreet Road to about 3,500 feet north of the Reams Road/Lake Hancock Road intersection (also approximately located at the south entrance to the Independence residential development).

Segment H-2

Includes Ficquette Road, from about 3,500 feet north of the Reams Road/Lake Hancock Road intersection (also approximately located at the south entrance to the Independence residential development) to the Reams Road/Lake Hancock Road intersection. Reams Road, from the Ficquette Road/Lake Hancock Road intersection, extending about 1,000 feet south, and extending westerly about 1,000 feet from the southern limits on Reams Road.

Segment J

Includes Summerlake Blvd, Parallel to Porter Road, about 1,100 feet to the south; from about 1,000 feet west of the southern limits on Reams Road, crossing Lake Hancock Road, and extending west to Phil Ritson Way, about 800 feet south of the Porter Road/Phil Ritson Way intersection.

Segment K

Includes from about 800 feet south of the Porter Road/Phil Ritson Way intersection to Porter Road, about 4,200 feet east of CR 545.

Segment L

Includes Porter Road, from about 4,200 feet east of CR 545 to the Porter Road/CR 545 intersection, and from about 4,200 feet east of CR 545 north to McKinney Road, about 1,700 feet east of the future interchange with State Road (SR) 429 (Western Beltway).

Segment M

Includes McKinney Road, from CR 545, through the future interchange with the Western Beltway, extending east approximately 4,000 feet.
