The Orange County Board of County Commissioners recently adopted updates to development, subdivision and roadway standards in Orange County Code to enhance pedestrian safety, Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliance and various administrative processes, including plan and permit requirements.
The updated Code sections simplify infrastructure standards now in multiple chapters to eliminate redundancy and implement new federal/state standards and best practices for safety and accessibility. Updates also will help implement Orange County's Sustainability Plan, Walk, Ride, Thrive! pedestrian safety program and ADA Transition Plan for the transportation network.
These changes to Chapters 9, 16, 21, 30, 34 and 38 of Orange County Code were adopted in Ordinances 2020-29 and 2020-30 on October 13, 2020, and are now in effect.
