Orange County Government, Florida

Public Art Commissions

Calls for Art

Overview

Orange County Office of Arts & Cultural Affairs will at times offer the opportunity for artists to receive a commission, sell their art or loan their art for display.

New government buildings will usually issue a Request for Qualifications (RFQ). Interested artists will submit a package including a letter of intent, previous art examples; a description of those art works and a detailed resume. A panel of art professionals and stakeholders in the building/neighborhood will choose from three to five artists to receive a stipend to make a site-specific proposal. One of those proposals will be chosen to be commissioned.

In addition Orange County Government may seek to purchase specific art work or may have opportunities for short-term exhibition. Those “Calls for Artists” will ask for images of the work offered, a description of the work, and a resume of the artists exhibitions and collectors.

Current Request for Qualifications

Artist should read the highlighted documents before submitting their RFQ.
