Background

The need for expansion of Econlockhatchee Trail:

  • Continuing development in the East Orange County.
  • Better serve local and regional traffic demands.
  • Finalize the location of additional roadway and stormwater retention.
  • Help control traffic patterns and land acquisition costs.
  • Improve traffic operations and drainage.
  • Provide much needed pedestrian and bicycle facilities.

What’s Next

  • On February 22, 2005 the Orange County Board of County Commissioners approved the Preferred Improvement Concept for Econlockhatchee Trail.
  • Orange County hired a consulting engineering team to complete the design of these improvements.
  • Construction is scheduled to begin in the summer of 2012.
