Community Action changes people's lives, embodies the spirit of hope, improves communities, and makes America a better place to live. We care about the entire community, and we are dedicated to helping people help themselves and each other.

Mission

The Orange County Community Action Division’s mission is to enhance the quality of life, promoting self-sufficiency, and eliminating the causes and consequences of poverty by mobilizing and directing socioeconomic resources, collaboration and partnership, and by providing high-quality, easily accessible programs and services.

Vision

The Community Action Division will help individuals and families achieve economic self-sufficiency by leveraging partnerships that produce a range of culturally-competent, accessible, high-quality services to meet the needs of a diverse community.

Community Action Programs

Family Self-Sufficiency Program – Vocational training, post-secondary education and state certification. (Additional assistance includes: budgeting and job placement).

Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program – (Energy Bill Assistance) Provides financial energy cost assistance to low-income households.

Senior Climate Efficiency Program – Central air-conditioning and heat repair and replacements for low-income seniors.

Weatherization Assistance Program – Assists low-Income households by Improving the energy efficiency of the home.

Computer Labs

Computers are available at various Community Centers throughout Orange County. Computers are used to assist residents with their educational goals, to access job postings, to increase computer skills and to access other computer related resources.
