Overview
To reduce the spread of COVID-19, a safe and effective vaccine is the most important intervention to end the pandemic. The decisions regarding who gets the COVID-19 vaccine (and when) depends on the decisions of the state and federal government.
The state’s allocation plan is based on a phased approach while the vaccine doses are in limited supply. Orange County is following the required prioritization set by the federal government and the State of Florida in directing the first vaccinations to high-risk health care workers and residents of long-term care facilities at the highest risk of contracting COVID-19, as well as any resident over 65+ years old.
Scam Warning
COVID-19 vaccines administered by county health departments are always free. If a site asks for payment information, it is likely a scam and should be reported to the Florida Attorney General's Office. Learn more about this scam.
