The program delivers comprehensive support and resources to the diverse population of Orange County through its various initiatives, including the Crisis Assistance Program (CAP), Family Resource Program (FRP), Veterans Service, Office on Disability, and Shelter Plus Care. By focusing on outreach and inclusive services, it aims to address the unique needs of individuals and families facing challenges in the community. Through these efforts, the program fosters resilience, empowerment, and access to vital assistance for all citizens.

Service Provider

Community action initiatives aim to empower low-income individuals and families through a variety of support programs. The Family Self-Sufficiency Program provides vocational training and educational opportunities, while the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program offers financial aid for energy costs. Additionally, the Senior Climate Efficiency Program ensures that low-income seniors have access to essential heating and cooling repairs, and the Weatherization Assistance Program enhances home energy efficiency to reduce overall expenses.

Service Provider

The Orange County Drug-Free Coalition has been committed to fostering a healthy, safe, and drug-free environment for families since 1999, serving both residents and visitors by promoting resources for prevention, intervention, treatment, and recovery. Volunteer teams regularly gather to implement strategies aimed at preventing high-risk behaviors related to alcohol, tobacco, marijuana, illicit drugs, and prescription misuse, while also enhancing access to substance use disorder treatment and recovery services.

Since 1989, the Citizens’ Commission for Children has provided funding and monitoring of local human service programs that address the needs of children and families in Orange County. As a leader in a dynamic and diverse community, the Citizens’ Commission for Children embraces its roles as an innovator in the growth and transformation of the philosophies and outcome-based funding systems of services that touch the lives of countless residents in our community.
