Education and Media

The Education and Media workgroup develops presentations designed to teach parents how to talk to kids about healthy lifestyles and risk reduction. The group creates community-wide awareness of the Coalitions’ efforts, challenges community involvement, and utilize “effective” programming/content. Work with all aspects of the media to get coverage and distribute Public Service Announcements on drug and alcohol awareness and prevention. The Committee works in partnership with Orange County Public Schools, PTSA, and Florida Division of Alcoholic Beverages & Tobacco.

Selected Workgroup Projects: Red Ribbon Celebration, Town Hall Meetings, Development of Educational Programs, and Social Marketing campaigns.
