Youth and Families
The Youth and Families workgroup provides parents and other community members information about health threats related to the use of alcohol, tobacco, and marijuana—the misuse of prescription opioids, stimulants, and depressant drugs and the abuse of illicit drugs. Workgroup members help Drug-Free Office staff develop health and safety social marketing campaigns. Youth also have a voice through participation in community meetings and forums. This group is active in developing strategies on how to involve more youth in preventing the initiation of substance use.
Selected Workgroup Projects: Red Ribbon Celebration, Youth Summit, Youth Ambassadors, Family Day, Neighborhood Watch, Community meetings, parent support groups.
