Shingle Creek Trail Phase 2 begins about 1.5 miles south of Phase 1, Segment 1, near the intersection of Taft Vineland Road and Central Florida Parkway. It extends southward for 2.74 miles along the south side of Central Florida Parkway and then the west side of South John Young Parkway until reaching Town Loop Boulevard. It consists of a 14-foot-wide concrete path and features a rest area shelter, pre-fabricated benches, bicycle rack and trash receptacles.
Phase 1, Segments 2 and 3 are nearing final design. Construction is slated to begin in early 2024. These two segments will connect the existing Phase 1, Segment 1 at Destination Parkway south to the newly completed Phase 2 at Taft Vineland Road. The Trail will vary normally 14-foot-wide asphalt but also will have long boardwalk sections through wetland areas.
Phase 3 will begin construction during the summer/fall 2023. It will extend the Trail from where Phase 2 ends at Town Loop Boulevard, along the west side of South John Young Parkway to the Orange County Line (just north of the Loop Shopping Center). The Trail will vary from 10- to 14-foot-wide concrete.
