  • Retiree Benefits:
    Access your County Retiree Handbook for information about eligibility, plan options, rates, provider contact details, and health insurance subsidies.
  • Medicare Ready!
    Before you retire from the county you must get Medicare ready (if applicable)! At the time of retirement, if you or your spouse are 65 or are approaching 65, please start the process for enrollment before you meet with the county HR Benefits team. Timing is critical and Medicare always begins on the first of the month. Contact one of our Cigna onsite representatives at OCRep@cigna.com in order to understand the county’s retiree supplement plans so you are prepared to make your elections when you meet with us.
  • Take your life insurance with you:
    You must submit your application to The Standard and make your first payment within 60 days of your termination from the County.
    • If you are under the age of 65, you can port your group life insurance into an individual term life policy or you can convert your group life insurance into an individual whole life policy - Portability Application
    • If you are 65 or older, you can convert your group life insurance into an individual whole life policy – Conversion Application

  • Already Retired?
    For billing and/or invoice information, please reach out to our retiree benefits administrator, Chard Snyder, at 1-888-993-4646. For plan details or inquiries, please reach out to Cigna at 1-800-244-6224.
  • Did You Move Recently?
    Provide your updated mailing address to benefits@ocfl.net, FRS (1-844-377-1888), Chard-Snyder (1-888-993-4646), & Social Security Administration (1-800-772-1213)
  • Orange County Health Insurance Subsidy (HIS)
    The Orange County Health Insurance Subsidy (HIS) is available to eligible retirees to help offset the cost of medical insurance premiums. The subsidy is available for the retiree only, and does not include dependent coverage. Retired employees of Orange County will receive $3.00-$5.00* per month for each whole year of service, including service time in DROP, up to $150.00 per month (30 years of service). The minimum subsidy shall be $30.00 per month. After you begin to receive your FRS HIS, you can apply for the County HIS. * Refer to IAFF union contracts
