• Come run through the woods for the inaugural Moss Islesly 5K Run/Walk on Monday, May 4, at Orange County Parks and Recreation's Moss Park (12901 Moss Park Rd., Orlando, FL 32832, https://tinyurl.com/OCMossPark). Dress for the Best Costumed Runner contest by wearing your favorite Star Wars(c) outfit! Those who register by April 20 are guaranteed to receive a T-shirt and medal; registration is open through race day.
• Register for $10 at OCParks5K.org (a United Way web page); all proceeds benefit Heart of Florida United Way. Check-in and bag pick-up begins at 5:30 p.m., costume contest at 7 p.m. and race starts at 7:30 p.m. Questions? Call the park's staff or email parks@ocfl.net.

Here's the May 4th event day schedule:

• 5:30 p.m. Check-in begins at pavilion 4, located behind the front parking lot.
• Cosplay contest: Check in at the orange-top tent next to registration to enter the contest, for ages 1-5, 6-10, 11-15, 16-25, 26-49 and 50-400.
• 5:30-6:45 p.m. Cosplay contest preliminary round at orange tent.
• 7 p.m. Cosplay contest finals on stage.
• 7:30 p.m. Race begins with runners in the front and walkers in the back. Start and finish will be at the same location, with two water stations. The course is shell rock, compact dirt and asphalt.
• This 5K Run-Walk will have four restrooms and two portalets.
• Food available for purchase from Kona Ice and R&D Food Services.
• Pets are not permitted in the park; service animals are welcome.

Orange County Parks and Recreation's Moss Park, Tibet-Butler Preserve and Shadow Bay Park are part of the Great Florida Birding and Wildlife Trail!

Park Admission Fee: $3 per vehicle for 1-2 people and $5 per vehicle for 3-8 people. With the exception of ADA service animals, pets are not allowed in Moss Park. No alcohol.

Tent and RV camping are available at this park.
