Apopka Loop Connector Trail Grand Opening, February 28
  • Join Orange County Mayor Jerry L. Demings and District 2 Commissioner Christine Moore for the grand opening of the Lake Apopka Connector Trail on Saturday, February 28, at 9 a.m. (*new time*)! The event will take place along the trail at the northeast corner of West McCormick Road and Ingram Road, Ocoee. This is a FREE event, open to the public. Questions?   • Work for this $10.2 million project included constructing a 10- to 14-foot-wide multi-use path with a boardwalk section. This phase provides the connection from the West Orange Trail to the Lake Apopka Loop Trail, connecting the Clarcona Horse Park in Ocoee to Magnolia Park in Apopka. It will complete the overall Lake Apopka Loop network of trails. The overall Lake Apopka Loop network of trails is 48 miles: the Lake Apopka Loop Trail, parts of the West Orange Trail, the South Lake/Hancock Trail and the Green Mountain Scenic Overlook in Lake County.
