Brownfields Redevelopment

• Brownfields are abandoned or underused industrial and commercial facilities whose redevelopment of such a facility may be complicated by real or perceived environmental contaminations.
• EPD encourages applicants to schedule a pre-application meeting to discuss the potential project, ideally before construction begins.
• After submission of a complete application, EPD staff will generate a draft Brownfield Area Designation.
