Crisis Assistance Program (CAP) is a limited financial assistance program for Orange County residents.
Who We Help
Individuals and families with an unforeseen loss of income or increase in expense(s) that are recently past due on their housing or basic utilities and will be self-sufficient within the next month
How We Help
- Provides one-time financial assistance for rent, mortgage, and/or utilities (electric, gas, or water only)
- Budget counseling
- Information and referrals to community resources
Minimum Qualifications
- U.S. citizen or legal resident status
- Established Orange County resident for at least 90 days
- Insufficient resources to pay for housing and/or utility expense(s)
- Documentation of unforeseen event within past 30-60 days that caused emergency financial need
- One-time assistance will resolve the situation
- Verification of future financial management
- Two (2) year eligibility period
How Do I Request Help?
- Call 407-836-6500 to be screened for an appointment
- Appointments are scheduled on a first call, first-serve basis Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m. (excluding Orange County observed holidays and closures due to a weather emergency or otherwise related event)
