Orange County Owner-Occupied Rehabilitation Program Temporary Application Closure Notice
Orange County Housing and Community Development (HCD) is providing notice that the Owner-Occupied Rehabilitation
Program is temporarily closed to new applications, effective September 21, 2026.
This temporary closure will allow Orange County HCD to focus on addressing the current waitlist and ensuring that
homeowners who have already applied receive appropriate consideration and assistance based on program
requirements
and available resources. Complete applications submitted on or before September 20, 2026, will continue to be
reviewed and processed in accordance with program requirements and available funding. Homeowners currently on
the
program waitlist will continue to be contacted and served in the order their applications were received, subject
to
eligibility and available funding.
The program is anticipated to reopen to new applications on or about January 18, 2027, following this 120-day
temporary closure period. Additional information regarding the reopening, including any changes to program
requirements or application procedures, will be provided as it becomes available.
During this temporary closure, homeowners who need assistance with repairs are encouraged to explore the
following
community resources. Eligibility, services, and availability vary by organization, and homeowners should contact
each
organization directly for information about available assistance.
Community Resources for Home Repair Assistance:
Orange County Senior Climate Efficiency Program
For Orange County homeowners age 60 or older who meet income and other eligibility requirements, the Senior
Climate
Efficiency Program may provide assistance with air-conditioning repairs, replacement, service, and
energy-efficiency
improvements.

Habitat for Humanity Greater Orlando & Osceola County
Habitat's Home Preservation program provides assistance to eligible homeowners with certain home repairs and
preservation needs, including roof replacement for qualified Orange County homeowners. Homeowners may also
receive
housing counseling to help identify available repair resources.

Rebuilding Together Central Florida
Rebuilding Together Central Florida provides home repair assistance to qualified homeowners, including
critical
repairs and accessibility improvements. Applications for home repair assistance are currently available
through
its
website.

The My Safe Florida Home Program helps Florida homeowners strengthen their homes through FREE wind
mitigation
inspections and grant assistance for approved upgrades.

Orange County Recovers - CDBG-DR Homeowner Program
Homeowners whose homes sustained unresolved damage from Hurricane Ian or Hurricane Milton may be eligible
for
assistance through Orange County Recovers, which is funded through the federal Community Development Block
Grant
-
Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR) program. Eligible assistance may include the repair, reconstruction, or
replacement
of
qualifying single-family homes.
