Residential or Commercial Windows and Doors Permit Requirements
Residential Windows and Doors Permitting Requirements
- Requirements for a Residential Windows and Doors permit:
- Select "Residential Permit" when choosing your permit application type.
- When filling out the permit application on Fast Track, use the Building Type dropdown to select the type of residential building such as "Single Family", "Two Family (Duplex)", "Mobile Home", etc. and select "Windows\Doors Replacement size for size” in the Work Type dropdown.
- Under Job Description; clearly identifying the work to be performed.

Example: Replace 2 windows, 2 swing doors, and 1 sliding glass door, size for size.
- Upload a simple floor plan or building layout with the location(s) of the window(s) and door(s) to be replaced.
- Upload a completed Orange County Product Approval Specification Sheet.
Inspections Note:
- You are required to have the approved installation details on the jobsite for inspection. Failure to do so will result in a failed inspection.
Commercial Windows and Doors Permitting Requirements
- Requirements for a Commercial Windows and Doors permit:
- Select "Commercial Permit" when choosing your permit application type.
- When filling out the permit application on Fast Track, use the Building Type dropdown to select the type of commercial building such and select "Windows\Doors Replacement size for size” in the Work Type dropdown.
- Under Job Description; clearly identifying the work to be performed.

Inspections are required for all permits. A passed "290 Final Inspection" is required in order for the permit status to change to complete. Failure to schedule and pass a Final Inspection within the allowed time will result in the permit Expiring. Additional expense to reinstate/replace the permit and possibly updated plans and documentation may be required.
A licensed contractor will be required to accept permit issuance. An owner-builder may act as Contractor under Exemption to F.S. 489.103(7)(a).
