The Orange County Public Works Department constructed the Alafaya Trail project from Mark Twain Boulevard to Avalon Park Boulevard. Construction plans were developed through a series of review meetings adopting all County and State standards. The construction added 2 additional lanes, a grass median, a new 5’ sidewalk and 10’ multi-purpose path. A new signal was installed at the intersection of Stone Abbey Boulevard and Alafaya Trail. Additionally the Orange County Public Utilities Department upgraded and installed a new water main, reclaimed water main and force main lines along the corridor.
