Description:The proposal is to change the Future Land
Use Map (FLUM) designation of the
48.46-acre subject parcel from Rural/
Agricultural (R) to Lake Pickett (LP).
The property is more than ten (10) acres in size. Therefore, the request is considered a large-scale amendment to the Orange County Future Land Use Map, requiring two rounds of County review: transmittal public hearings, followed by adoption public hearings. The applicant is proposing a mixed-use development featuring up to 75,000 square
feet of retail uses and 233 townhomes.

Description:Orange County Utilities will be constructing a new gravity sewer collection system in the Sweetwater West and Wekiwa Highlands subdivisions, and an associated new wastewater pump station and transmission main in Sweetwater West. The project will also include connecting individual residences to the sewer main, abandoning existing septic tanks, landscaping and site restoration, connecting applicable residences to the municipal water system, resurfacing roadways (materials to match existing), and installing a new irrigation service with a meter at each residence. In this meeting, representatives will give a brief overview of the project, discuss the construction schedule, and address any questions.

Description:The Duties of EPC are:
To recommend revisions and amendments from time to time of appropriate rules and regulations reasonably necessary for the implementation and effective enforcement, administration and interpretation of the provisions of this act [article] that provide for the effective and continuing protection of the environmental quality of the air, water and land in the county.
To review staff recommendations for appropriate fees to be charged by the county for the services rendered by the county under the provisions of this act [article].
To hold public hearings on appeals of staff decisions regarding environmental permits as designated by the board of county commissioners and, after publicly discussing the application and taking testimony and evidence from the applicant and public, submit its recommendation on the application to the board of county commissioners.
To perform such other related duties, functions and responsibilities as may be assigned to the commission from time to time by the board of county commissioners.
To make other recommendations to the board of county commissioners regarding improvements to the natural resources and environmental issues
